Dream Girl vs. Reality

Have you dreamt about me?

I've dreamt about you.

You're so unreal but

you have to be true.

I think about you

all of the time.

I hope one day

to make you mine.

I idolize you

on a pedestal,

and wait at the bottom

to catch your fall.

In a flaw-ful world

your flaws don't show.

And there's just one

thing you need to know.

Your only vice is

my heart you steal.

You're better than my

dream girl, you're real.

So Cliche

It's never happened like this.

Where eye contact equals bliss.

Maybe it has but this wasn't the same.

For now, I can't get her off my brain.

So lame, but it was so cliche.

This girl, took my breath away.

My heart starts to beat faster

every single time I pass her.

So radiant, she lights up the room.

On a cloudy day her flowers bloom.

Her smile makes me melt like butter.

When she is near, butterflies clutter.

If I could stare into her eyes all day,

I know she'd take all my pain away.

Beauty unmatched from sea to sea.

Man, I wish she'd see me for me.

Then we'd be together, never apart.

'Cuz she's the girl holding my heart.

Hopefully I'll get the courage to say,

"You're the prettiest forever and a day."

Until then, I'll just admire her from afar.

'Cuz in the night she's my shining star.

The Unexplainable Truth

Walking down the street,

I look up and I see

An old couple holding hands.

Man I hope one day that's me.

When I'm all grown up I

hope I grow old with you

And we'll be the couple

others say "I want that too."

But it's hard to imagine

our roads always merging

because today it feels like

their roads are just diverging.

One day she's beautiful.

One day he's a gentle man.

But then the next morning

neither one gives a damn

about anything they worked

for or the time they spent.

Then they just walk away

like love is something you rent.

How can you rent something

as immaculate as love?

Maybe it's cuz we don't

know what the hell is love.

Maybe it's cuz we don't

see love in our own home.

Maybe it's cuz we don't

have money to buy our own.

Maybe it's cuz we don't

work enough to maintain it.

Maybe it's cuz we don't

care enough to retain it.

Maybe it's cuz love is

something we just don't get.

But how does love become

something you regret?

So maybe love's a mountain

that's impossible to climb.

But take my hand girl and

everything will be fine.

Everyone always said that

man could never fly.

We'll it's time to take flight

and give our love a try.

When it works, we won't

have to answer why.

Because we know that

our love is not a lie,

in your arms I'll die.

The Game of Chance

The skies are gray

but all I see is blue.

You're my sun ray

and my moon too.

The darkest rooms

light up by your smile.

Infatuation will bloom

if you'd stay for a while.

Please stay for a while.

It's like I'm in a game of rock

paper scissors with my heart.

Your move will break the lock.

Chances are our paths will part.

But I loved you from the start.

I love to feel

your eyes as I look away.

You'd feel

the same if you'd just stay.

I'd promise

things, that I would keep.

I'd sing

nightly, until you fall sleep.

I'd hold

your hand, for all to see.

I'd be

your man, and you my lady.

I'd listen

to you, every single word.

I'd need

no help, from the tiny bird.

I'd fight

armies, if that's what it takes.

I'd lower

my wall, just to raise the stakes.

My love would never be fake.

So give me the dice.

I'll take the roll.

If that's what it takes

to find your beautiful soul.

Tomorrow

Yeah, no need to worry we'll do it tomorrow.

Ugh, that's the day we can end our pain, fear, and sorrow.

Ha, but there's no reason to worry about today.

Uh, cuz tomorrow all our troubles will fade away.

We see a poor man stumbling down the street

barely able to support his own two feet.

And we look away.

We see hate in the communities we create

and continue to close our gate

on our neighbors.

We don't have neighbors,

we just live in a hood.

This is no good,

we can make it good.

But we don't, we just say...

Yeah, no need to worry we'll do it tomorrow.

Ugh, that's the day we can end our pain, fear, and sorrow.

Ha, but there's no reason to worry about today.

Uh, cuz tomorrow all our troubles will fade away.

A boy grows up fatherless and needs a hand

to help him understand how to be a man.

But we turn away.

Work needs to be done but we delay

to have some fun and worry another day.

We could make such a difference in the world

today.

But we won't. And we don't.

We just say...

Yeah, no need to worry we'll do it tomorrow.

Ugh, that's the day we can end all our pain, fear, and sorrow.

Ha, but there's no reason to worry about today.

Uh, cuz tomorrow all our troubles will fade away.

Here's a little something that we all need to realize;

we've been living our lives in a mini sea of lies.

We say we'll do it tomorrow,

but there is no tomorrow.

Tomorrow becomes today.

Today is every day,

but if we won't do it today

then when?

Why can't we say...

Yeah, no need to worry we'll do it today.

Ugh, now is the time to make a better day.

Ha, but there's no reason to worry about tomorrow.

Uh, cuz we're making the blue skies to end our sorrow.

Tomorrow never comes.

So stop procrastinating today

Because today tomorrow becomes.

Hide and Seek (part 2)

I'm running out

of places to hide.

Why's there no comfort

in where I reside?

The seeker finds me

wherever I go.

He takes me high

then sinks me low.

A balloon flying,

freely in the air.

The clouds can't stop,

his thunderous glare.

This game's not fair.

I feel trapped in the

Most Dangerous Game.

The closer he gets,

the more I feel pain.

With each wound,

I'm not the same.

Why do I hide?

This is insane.

But the seeker,

no one can tame.

"Everything is great.

You're doing well.

But you ruin it all,

so go to hell.

I cannot stand

how little you do.

Actually, I meant,

I appreciate you.

I ask for help.

You come to assist.

But now I am

really pissed.

So go away

you worthless scum.

I'll chew you up

like a piece of gum."

What's there to gain?

In playing this game.

The seeker will drain

the hider's reign

of a happy claim.

Now all is bane

and he needs a cane

in order to maintain

the power to sustain

a look of fain

when sunshine is rain.

The seeker creeps,

to find his prey.

But the hider knows

just what he'll say.

To the pang he gets,

the hider's grown numb.

But the seeker is clueless

to what he's done.

He doesn't know

the holes he's made.

Or the soul crushed

in each passing raid.

The memories won't fade.

"I hope one day

you'll understand me.

And then maybe you

won't reprimand me.

I have an excuse

to be like this.

Now come over here

and give me a kiss.

You know that I'm

not always the seeker.

Besides, you can't

get any weaker.

Than when I chop

you don't like a tree.

But rarely do it

when others can see.

I'm your buddy,

just be my friend.

But dare not think,

this game will ever end."

So the hider plots

for the day he can seek.

To seek the seeker,

his power at the peak.

The seeker won't know

just where to hide.

For he's never been

on the hiding side.

The hider will rise,

wounds and all.

For he knows one day,

the seeker will fall.

No longer in thrall

nor standing tall..
