He said, "Girl, I love you.
Always have, always will.
The sands of time tested
us, but love stands, still.
This love that we share,
for it others would kill.
No valley too low nor
high mountain or hill
can keep me from you,
Your dreams I'll fulfill."
But the words ran dry,
only working like a pill.
They never fixed things.
Only made things less ill.
When the clock struck zero,
"love," one, actions, nil.
See, love is just a word
that carries no worth.
But it's something we're
told, right from birth.
Why can't we act "love"
to give the word rebirth.
Then maybe love can
return and fill the earth.
For now, I won't use love
until the action I unearth.
